THE HOTSEAT
WELCOME TO THE NEWEST SECTION TO THE BOI WEBSITE - THE HOTSEAT
IN THE HOTSEAT TODAY - HE'S HAD MORE INJURIES THAN DARREN ANDERTON, AND JUST AS MANY APPEARENCES....
MATT ANDREWS........

Are you back to peak fitness after your lengthy lay-off?
Peak fitness has always been an issue throughout my career, but I think its suffice to say I am as fit as possible.
You have had a few different positions since you returned to the team leftback, centreback, rightback, centre mid, where do you prefer to play?
I am naturally a right back, although I think my best performance was against Muller Road in the central midfield role. I hate, hate, hate playing left back. My natural attacking ability does not prosper from that position.
Why are you stepping down as secretary next season?
This hasn't been an easy decision for me. I set the team up only a couple of years ago, but seem to spend more time being injured than actually playing .... several years of top flight football on the Downs has caused both my ankles to give way easily. Therefore I am considering retiring at the grand old age of 32. Adam Forster has done an excellent job in assisting this season, and therefore I have no doubt that he can steer the club onwards and upwards in our plight for professional football.
What has been your high and low point of the season?
High point so far would be reaching the Presidents Cup Semi final. I am a previous winner of this cup and didn't think I would be in with a shout of obtaining another medal. The low point would be the realisation that my joints are no longer able to keep up with regular Men's football prompting the thoughts of retirement.

I think we will finish in the top half of the season, I will not get a goal for love nor money, and we will make the Cup Final.
You have a variety of nicknames - mostly given to you by Kev - which is your favourite?
I didn't realise that I had that many nicknames ! I was only aware of Bulldog which makes me sound like a Burberry wearing tattooed hooligan with 'these colours never run' stencilled on my backside !

Do you think Bell should have brought us some Cheerleaders back from the states?
Yes, but I do wonder what sex they would have been !

Who have you based your game on?
I think Ian Alexander the Scottish Full back for the Mighty Bristol R***rs in the 80's.
If you had to compare yourself to a modern day player, who would it be?
I would have to say a defensive Zidane.

I would have thought so, although probably not weekly. Let's see how training in the summer goes, never say never !
Phil Bell On America, Bush,Arnie and cheerleaders.
Dan Donaldson On Weston, injuries and cheerleaders.
Sam Coles On Red cards, sheds, Mother Teresa and cheerleaders
Sheephead On Name Calling, Vespas and Cheerleaders.
